Youth Commission Service Projects

Youth Commission Service Projects are projects that all 5 Youth Advisory Councils take on simultaneously. The Youth Commission decides to join together in an effort to make a large impact and provide support to community members and organizations throughout the county. Take a look below to see some of our service projects we have taken on in the past.

Youth Commission Clothing Drive

All 5 Youth Advisory Councils participate in our county-wide Annual Clothing Drive where we collect, sort and fold clothing donations that are distributed to Shelter’s throughout the county.

RUHS SOAR Training Program

Since 2018, the Youth Commission has partnered with the RUHS Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program (TSAPP) and continues to collaborate with the expanded SOAR initiative. The SOAR program includes three key trainings: the Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program (TSAPP), the Overdose Awareness and Prevention Program (OAPP), and the Resilience Initiative through Support and Empowerment Program (RISE). Each Youth Advisory Council (YAC) participates in all three trainings and then works collaboratively to share what they’ve learned through creative community campaigns, with ongoing support from RUHS.
